15 Minutes at Dream Lake

Ever since I got into film, I had been curious how well it would perform for astrophotography - and now I know! This fifteen minute long exposure was taken on Kodak Portra 400 at Dream Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park. Hallett Peak is silhouetted against the glow of the Milky Way, while the motion of the stars is burned into the film. In the foreground, rocks are illuminated by stray light from my headlamp.
