Portrait of a Sandhill Crane

A sandhill crane pauses for a moment while foraging for food in the Monte Vista National Wildlife Refuge. During their migration through the San Luis Valley, the cranes draw quite a crowd. This one, however, decided to engage in some people-watching of its own.
