View from Alpine Visitor Center

Description

Located at 11,796 feet above sea level (3,695m), the Alpine Visitor Center is the highest visitor center in the National Park System. It's easy to get to, at least in the summer, and even easier to look out from. Just watch out as you walk around; the tundra here is so fragile that repeated footsteps can easily kill centuries' worth of plant growth. The easiest way to respect the park here is to stick to the paths.
